Lulu wants to show you around our new apartment…

Our stuff won’t be here until next week but our Nitra family already made it feel like home! It’s incredible. Tears flowed.

And a special thank you to

Barbora and Nika for Vivi’s cardboard house that made her momma cry

Ondrej and Michaela for the artisan care package

Miška for the detailed Slovak store survival kit

And Mato and Palino for the exceptional guided shuttle service from the Vienna airport

We have felt so loved these first 24 hours.

We already miss the Tacoma fam…

The night this photo was taken is so dear to us.

After weeks of packing, traveling, and goodbyes, we finally found a moment in Lisbon, Portugal to read all the goodbye letters from our Tacoma family given to us the evening before our flight out of Washington. We were right to assume it would require a hefty dose of emotional energy

So much life happened in the little time we shared with you, dear friends. We had no idea what all was in store for us in the PNW. Now we know. We will never be the same. Thank you.

Love you all. See you soon…

Soma School Roadtrip

Just got back from 10 days of traveling down the West Coast with eight Slovak pastors from three different church plants.

We spent time in Tacoma, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco, learning from and enjoying the hospitality of  Soma Tacoma, Doxa Church, Soma Federal Way, Dope Church, Bread and Wine, Kaleo Portland, Salt and Light, Soma San Ramon Valley, and Citizens San Francisco.

So thankful for both our Soma family and our family of Slovak brothers and sisters that we are partnering with!  How did we end up here?!  What a fun ride.

Here’s a three minute video with some of our takeaways and scenic views.

SLOVAKS ON THE WEST COAST: CHURCH PLANTING TRAINING ROADTRIP

slovaksinTacoma.jpg

Earlier this week, eight Slovak pastors arrived in Tacoma.

For 10 days we’re driving down the West Coast – spending time with churches in Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, all the way down to San Francisco.

These are men that we’ve been working with over the last couple of years and who we will be working with once we land on the other side of the Atlantic in a few weeks!

Looking forward to learning with these brothers about how to serve and equip churches to abide deeply in Jesus and to reach the cities in Slovakia that God has placed them.

Pray
– that God would stir our hearts closer to His
– that transatlantic partnerships and friendships would form that could further the gospel around the globe
– that these pastors would head back to Slovakia refreshed and encouraged
– for our wives and families that couldn’t make it this time

The Joneses are packing and heading out of Tacoma February 9th and after a few weeks in the South heading to Slovakia March 8th!
